Hotel Fire in Paguera Causes Alarm
A fire at the Hotel sOlivera in Paguera has caused alarm among residents. A large cloud of smoke billowing from the hotel establishment is visible from several kilometers away. Prompt action by lifeguards at the Palmira beach in Paguera saved a 69-year-old German tourist from drowning on Saturday. Around half-past twelve, lifeguards spotted a woman in distress in the water and immediately launched a rescue operation. The woman was pulled from the water unconscious and taken to a hospital where she is reportedly in stable condition.
Collapse of a Beachfront Restaurant in Majorca
A beachfront restaurant on the Spanish island of Majorca partly collapsed on Thursday, killing at least four people and injuring 16, officials said, with others feared trapped in the rubble. The victims are a man and three women, one of whom was a worker at the establishment, according to sources close to the investigation. The collapse occurred at around 1:30 p.m. at the Balneario de Palma, a popular tourist spot located on the promenade of Palma, the island's capital. The cause of the collapse is still under investigation, but authorities believe it may have been caused by a structural failure.
