Snooker Scores LIVE: English Open Updates with Carter, Selby, Trump and O'Sullivan

Neil Robertson was given a real scare by China’s Yuan Sijun before coming through his opening English Open test 4-3 to book a last-32 clash with John Higgins.

Robertson looked on course for a comfortable victory when he raced into a 3-0 lead, but world number 87 Yuan then took the next three frames.

The 2010 world champion eventually prevailed in the decider and goes on to face four-time global champion Higgins, who beat former world number one Mark Williams 4-0.

Judd Trump fought back from 3-1 down to beat Matthew Stevens 4-3 and set up a tie with Anthony McGill, who had earlier defeated Graeme Dott 4-1.

Mark Selby also progressed with a 4-2 victory over Matthew Selt, while three-time former world champion Mark Williams lost 4-0 to John Higgins.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is in action later at the English Open as the six-time world champion takes on David Gilbert.

O’Sullivan is aiming to win the English Open for the first time in his career, having lost in the final in 2016 and 2017.

Gilbert will be no pushover though, having reached the semi-finals of the UK Championship last year and the quarter-finals of the English Open in 2021.

The winner of their match will face either Ali Carter or Ding Junhui in the last 32.
