Edwards Breaks Records
On January 25th, 2022, Anthony Edwards made NBA history in a 109-107 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. The 20-year-old became the first player in league annals to record a stat line of 40 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and three blocks in a single game.
Edwards, who was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and played high school basketball at Holy Spirit Prep School, is in his third season with the Timberwolves. He is averaging 22.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game this season.
Edwards' performance is even more impressive considering he is the third-youngest player in NBA history to score 40 points in a game. The only two players younger than Edwards to accomplish this feat are LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
